Each playable character is represented by the NFT of the character, in one of the root races. This character has the name of its race followed by a number (example: Wizard #777). Every character NFT will also possess the ability to summon a Companion. For example, the Cosmic Wizards NFT collection, the first released, has the ability to summon a Dragon companion. Each Companion will provide an in-game advantage, such as accelerating movement from A to B on a given island. Characters can be leveled-up by participating in the Main Quest of exploring, harvesting, building increasingly-advanced structures, and beautifying their land, as well as participating in numerous immersive side quests.
Apes – Earth Shard
Elves – Air Shard
Ravers – Fire Shard
Felines – Crystal Shard
Wizards – Aether Shard
Yetis – Stone Shard
Gnomes – Water Shard
Each race of characters has a magical ability that gives it an advantage over another race of characters. This magical ability is directly tied to the magical crystal shard its respective Elemental used to create their race. However, no race of characters is better or worse than any other. All have their own unique advantages and disadvantages.
Wizards were the first root race to be created, out of the Aether shard. This imbued them with the most magic out of all of the races on Crypton, and also gave them the important responsibility of protecting the Tree of Magic, and ensuring magic was used for good. There are male and female wizards (3 males for every female), all wise, noble, and virtuous. What they lack in physical strength they make up for in the expert use of spells, artifacts, and potions.
Elves are wise and elegant. They are ancient and noble, maintaining a close connection with Wizards, as well as all life. They have expert control over magic streaming from the Tree of Magic. They have the ability to both create and revive all forms of life, quickly regenerate their own energy, and wield magical artifacts in the optimal manner. They are a sophisticated race that is second to Wizards when it comes to casting spells and using potions.
Apes have plenty of brawn but little in the way of brains. Still, they are remarkably confident, strong, and connected to their environment. An ape is known to dive head-first in a situation, and sometimes quite literally, irregardless of the potential consequences. They find the thrill of trying something new to be incredibly exciting. Apes have come to be beloved by all on Crypton for their courage, humor, and all-around entertaining antics.
The Felines are agile, gentle, and full of grace, appearing as a combination of humans, elves, and feline mammals. They possess a crystalline quality that allows them to harness the power of all crystals within the realm. They retain advanced knowledge of how to use magic for evolving the life they see all around them. There is an inherent playfulness in felines, who are known to take pleasure in music, dancing, spas, and racing.
Trolls are strong and brutish, yet cunning and jovial as well. In fact, they always seem to be in the mood for entertaining games ... unless they're hungry. Building bridges and waging mock battles was not all that Troll-kind spent their long and ancient days doing. They also had green thumbs, which they made use of in the wide expanse of land surrounding them. Trolls come in many shapes and sizes, including Mountain, Cave, Gnome, Forest, and Treasure Trolls.
A primal yet magical form of life on Crypton, Yetis are mysterious and brutish yet have hearts of gold. They have been known by names like Sasquatch, Yeti, and others. There are known to be towering and muscular Yetis in mountains, forests, and caves, possessing massive bodies and maintaining enormous strength. They have a remarkable ability to blend into the environment, and teleport with ease across the many islands of Crypton, and can be unseen when a situation calls for it
Known for their love of mining, metalworking, crafting, and insatiable desire for elemental wealth, Dwarves are considered to be the hardest-working of all races on Crypton. They are also incredibly stocky, haggard, and rough around the edges, which contrasts with their smaller stature. This is a race that is well-known to be hardworking, dependable, and seemingly impervious to even the most extreme environmental conditions. They are as nice as they are stubborn. A Dwarf's trust must be earned.
The majority of the land plots on Cosmic Island will be Elysian Fields. This type of land is mostly meadows with occasional trees and shrubs. It will have some resources like stone, iron ore, and - sparse trees for lumber but not much beyond that. These have a satisfactory amount of resources that will be what most players will likely get to start out.
Enchanted Forest land plots will have abundant resources to help players quickly and effectively develop their land plots and combine them into advanced settlements. There will be trees, a little bit of iron and gold ore, a small quantity of crystals, and magical artifacts.
Land in Mystic Alpines has plentiful snow cover and has a significant degree of elevation compared with all other regions on Cosmic Island. Land plots here will possess some trees but plenty of stone, all kinds of ore, artifacts & relics, and crystals.
The Forest of Whimsy is an exclusive area on Cosmic Island that will have everything the previous land plot regions mentioned have but in more plentiful quantities, as well as potions that can be harvested and used for magical abilities. There are crystal forests, meaning trees and plentiful massive glowing crystals growing out of the ground everywhere.
A few rivers traverse Cosmic Island, and will occasionally have bridges going across them. Rivers can be used to traverse across land - quickly, and can also be used as a resource for "living water" that goes into potions, water fountains, and other in-game elements.
Roads can be used when traveling throughout Cosmic Island. Owning land next to a road can be more useful and valuable than land further away from roads. Other players will be more likely to harvest resources on land closest to roads, resulting in more revenue for the land owners. Roads will speed up travel by 300%. When a road goes over a river, it is represented as a bridge.
